I LOVE the Beartown trilogy by Fredrick Backman!

And I've revisited A year by the Sea (Joan Anderson) many times.

And when I need a poem, I go to Rupi Kaur (Home Body is my favorite).

Can't wait to see what others are taking to bed.

These are great, Miranda. And agreed... so fun to see what everyone's taking to bed to read. 🥰

I'm in love with Friends of Dorothy by Sandi Toksvig. It's just so charming, funny and sad at the same time, but very VERY reassuring.

I just finished reading The Color Purple by Alice Walker, and it is astounding. If you've only seen the movie, I highly recommend reading the book. Her control over language is second to none.

I'm not big on poetry, but reading Morgan Harper Nichols' You Are Only Just Beginning every night in bed across a few months last year felt like a daily goodnight message I didn't know I needed 🌈

What a gift! I find it so powerful to be able to choose the message I end the day on. There's so much that we take in all day, and then to retreat into the comfort of a book really helps, doesn't it?

Absolutely - there's nothing better! Whatever I'm doing in the day/eve, the last thing I have to do before turning off the light is to read something from a book - even if just a page!

Everyone is enraptured by that one. I had to take a German language exam last week and even our test proctor was engrossed in it. Have fun!

I'm currently enjoying a book that has been in my TBR pile for quite some time - "Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk" by Kathleen Rooney. It's a travel through New York City through the decades and a fun read. I am also reading "The Let Them Theory" by Mel Robbins - I love her podcast and this book is so motivating and empowering - a must read!

Well, watch me oust myself as a nerd, but I got Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon for Christmas and have been devouring it :) the math and cool stuff in it delights me, even more than usual, because now it's for advancing the plot and whatnot! (not to mention the incredible imagery and descriptions!)

Nerds are so welcome here. I have tried reading that one several times and somehow I can never break through. I blame myself, rather than the book -- it's a favorite of my husband's and the subject matter is brilliant. Thrilled you're having an excellent time with it!
