Last week, I wrote a scene twice and wasn’t pleased with either version.
Generally, I don’t look back at scenes when still in process with a draft.
If you are the sort who immediately shifts into editing mode, picking apart sentences and word choice, bemoaning your writing abilities from the first glance, I don’t recommend it for you either.
However, writing this mystery has meant I am making more passes with shorter drafts to build up the clues that connects the web of the plot together.
But this isn’t about overcoming the fear of to look back or not to look back.
It’s about the fear of taking a break.
